What are the popular slippers (flipflops) brand used by my 'kababayan' or my fellow countrymen (Filipinos)?

especially when going to the beach..?

Havaianas, eh??? (without a doubt.. lol) (--,)

If so, how will I know if your Havaianas are authentic or not?

Birkenstock ako e.

Mas "cheap" ung Havaianas kesa Birkenstock e

(I prefer Birkenstock, Havaianas [original] are cheap!)

LOL!!

No I don't use my Birk on beaches so I use Havaianas [fake].

And Oh if the price tag of Havaianas is around PHP700+ then it's original. If around PHP30-50 it's fake. I also noticed that original Havaianas are thinner compared to fakes.

Reply:foreign ones: havaianas... ipanema... dupe... dickies... among these, only havaianas has imitations with "havanas" written in lieu of "havaianas" that is why i prefer to wear the latter brands. you will also know that it is an imitation because the sole of the imitation is not as soft and comfy as the original.

local ones: spartan... islander... beachwalk...
Reply:i don't really look at the brand for my flip flops. Whatever looks good and feels great. If I do feel brand conscious, i take mine from "Tribu" since I am more often on terrains rather than sand. Otherwise, most Filipinos would grab a "Spartan" and a "Dragon".
Reply:I use Banana peel or Planet. I have a planet flipflops that i've been using for over 3 yrs now. It was just P79 then : )
Reply:While havaianas is a famous brand for flip flops and many are loving pairs of them lately, i must say Islander has been very famous and best seller for quite a long time now... =)
Reply:Havaianas, Islander, Bench, Fila. Try to compare the quality of the material from the original one against the fake ones.

They change the word to "Havanas" for unauthentic flipflops.
