Reply:i lived there 5 years and i know that also. its just they are more like shoes there and here they are just something someone wears on an off during the winter its too cold here to wear them but also they do have cold weather where you are i livedin the mts for abit and never on north side but i realize it. its just a term they use. its nothing big deal about it i was there in 70's
Reply:in ohio, where it gets cold, slippers are kind of like fuzzy, cushiony things you wear on your feet to keep them warm =] it's funny you call flip flops slippers.





flip flops are called that because of the noise they make when you walk. flip flop, flip flop.
Reply:Really? I did not know that. My husband calls flip flops slippers and I teased him about this so it's interesting to me that you guys do that. LOL We call them flip flops because when you flip them off your feet they flop on the ground LOL :)

Reply:In Florida We call them Flip Flops because slippers are soft usually fuzzy bunny ear or moccasin looking things you wear around the house with a robe.
Reply:Well I think that "flipflops" and "FLIP FLOPS" are the same thing here in United States and in China... I don't see the difference..... ( excuse my ignorance ! )
Reply:Because I think in hawaii thats what you wear for what we wear as slippers. It can sometimes be colder here so we wear fuzzy slippers, and when you walk its all flip flop!

in india you call them slippers too. but in canada they are flip flops.
