they make a anti biting/chewing spray. Spray the outside of your slippers with this, when your dog gets the taste in its mouth, it will not like it and will not chew on them again. You may need to reapply after he chews the first time so he doesn't just try again later!

Reply:The best cure for stopping bad behavior that we have found for our dogs, cats and even the bird, get a spray bottle fill it with water. When you catch the animal in the act of misbehavior, pick up the bottle and give them a quick squirt. You do not have to say one word, they will stop. Be consistent. They will learn that as soon as you pick up the bottle, they will stop and you don't have to spray them.

Reply:Go out and buy a toy slipper for your dog to rassle with and make sure you put your real ones up. If you aren't looking to spend money on a dog toy get on of your "old" %26amp; "usless" shoes for him/her to play with.
Reply:put your slippers where your dog cant get them... or try to train your dog. let him eat them, but when you ctach him doing it, raise your tone of voice, and say NO or somesort of negative command to startle him a bit... i'm not saying to be mean, but just firm and discipline the dog... then if the dog does it again, then keep on doing it until the dog gets it. try this with an old slipper so that it will not mess up yours. you can also buy him some dog toys or his own slippers to chew on. but i think that training your dog will benefit you more in the long run.

Reply:Well the only thing is listen to many of these answers and choose the best one. But you shouldn't have to give him your slipper, you are the boss and what you say goes, so if he goes near it tell him/her "no" and move him away and continue doing that until he gets that no means stay away. My dog don't chew on any of my shoes but once in a while he chews on my childrens toys. And I still repeat to him "no" Dogs are not dumb they just need a little time to learn the words and the actions at the same time. Almost like potty training them.

Reply:depends on the age of the dog, if they are young, put the slippers away,,, as you would do with a toddler,,,,,, if older,, say no, then use a non physical punishment, such as putting them outside, or in a certain room
Reply:i went to target one time and they have all this toy for dogs that are slippers and shoes, etc. buy one so your dog would stop eating them and also watch the dog whisperer, its a good show for dog owners.

Reply:Well, I would certainly not go the route of poison on your slippers unless you want a permanent solution to a temporary problem.





There are several routes to go with this. First of all is a simple solution of putting your slippers where they are not able to be gotten by the dog. Although this sounds like a perfect solution, it is not always effective enough. Often the dog will simply turn it's attention to something else like a different shoe. You can also use things like red pepper powder, or bitter apple spray.





The best way to take this is to change the dog's habits. Start by spraying the slippers with bitter apple (available at most any PetSmart). This will make them taste terrible to the dog. Then give the dog something like a Kong toy with some peanut butter smeared inside of it, or a nice chewie to keep it occupied and to give it something appropriate to chew on. Take an empty milk carton and put some pennies in it. If the dog is caught chewing something it should not chew, then throw the milk jug on the floor near the dog. The noise will startle the dog from what it was doing and let it know it is not the proper thing to be doing. Right after you do this, immediately give the dog his chew toy/rawhide and praise him when he chews it instead. This will condition the dog to know the right things to chew from the wrong things to chew.





Whatever you do, do not yell and scream at the dog and hit him for chewing on the wrong things. It is a natural instinct for a dog to want to chew (particularly dogs under the age of 2), and it needs to be taught right from wrong. You do not want to make your dog fear you, so use a gentle hand and praise him for what he does right.
