OK- everyone calm down... those flippy floppy rubber things that we wear at the beach are also called slippers in some parts of the world. If you go to one of the five military colleges in the United States, you would be issued them to wear in the shower.


You usually wear them in the shower to prevent catching athlete's foot and other ailments and to protect your feet while walking to and from the shower area. So wearing these in the shower at a dorm, gym, pool or other similar situation makes perfect sense.
